A Modern Day Paul

One of our assignments for class so far has been to read through the entire book of Acts.  Acts is one of my favorite books of the Bible.  In it are so many stories of people's lives who have been changed drastically by God, one of those people being Saul.  I love Saul's story.  It's a perfect example of how God makes all things/ people new.
Reading Saul's story made me think of a time at Wooster Naz when there was a missionary who came to speak about her experience in Russia and a man she encountered who became a modern day Paul story. Start watching around 41:44.

Going Without Question

At the beginning of the semester Matt did an introduction in class where he talked about the places he's lived as a missionary.  One of those places happens to be Swaziland, a place I visited and a people I fell completely in love with.  My mind was instantly flooded with memories of the time I spent there this past May working with The Luke Commission and all I could think about was how much I just wanted to go back.

It's true that if I were given the option to drop everything right now and go back I would take it without hesitation, but I also realize that I think God is calling me other places besides Swaziland.  It's my prayer that I would have that same attitude toward wherever it is that I am called, whether it be on the top of my list of places I've wanted to go or at the very bottom, in the United States or out of the country.

In Swaziland I saw what God has made and is making out of Harry and Echo's obedience and complete "yes" to what God has called them to do.  He works in ways we never could have imagined when we surrender completely to His plan.  It's my prayer that I would also go without question in complete and total surrender.
